Long Bio<\/strong><\/p>\n Seze Devres, of Turkish descent, was raised in New York City. She began her lifelong love of the human form in art at age 3, when she started practicing ballet for 11 years at Carnegie Hall<\/b>. By age 12 she decided to pursue fine art, and started anatomy drawing at The Art Students League<\/b>. As a teenager growing up in NYC in the early nineties, she spent her weekends at figure drawing and watercolor lessons, and nights photographing indie rock concerts at places like CBGB in the East Village.<\/p>\n Painting and photography always lead parallel paths in Seze\u2019s artistic vision.\u00a0 Her love of art continued at Bard College<\/b>, where she double majored in Sculpture and Photography.\u00a0 At Bard she started to create camera-less photographs (photograms) that explore the potentials of light and color through abstraction.\u00a0 In 2001 she received a Masters in Photography from The School of Visual Arts<\/b>, where she was awarded the Aaron Siskind Scholarship\/Chairman\u2019s Grant. She has exhibited her unique camera-less process in numerous solo and group shows in the United States, Turkey, and France.\u00a0 Her photograms gained worldwide recognition and were highlighted in the photo textbook \u201cExploring Color Photography.\u201d Seze has taught photography at Kutztown University<\/b>, The International Center of Photography<\/b>, and 3rd Ward<\/b>. In June 2007, Seze curated a 23 artist group exhibition on contemporary psychedelic art called \u201cLove\u2019s Secret Domain\u201d in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n In addition to her artistic endeavors, Seze Devres works as a commercial photographer producing promotional material for small businesses and musicians. She was the resident photographer at Ace Hotel New York<\/b> from 2010-2019. Currently her professional focus is on event photography and portraiture, most of which she creates in her Brooklyn studio. Her photography has appeared in The New York Times, Time Out, The Village Voice, and New York Magazine<\/b>. Seze\u2019s passion for electronic music has influenced many collaborative projects: including special limited-edition releases for sound artists and press photos for DJs and musicians.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n Since her teens Seze has been photographing parties, concerts, and social events in New York City on a regular basis. From 2006-2010, she photographed the hugely successful museum parties for the PS1\/MoMA Warm Up<\/b> summer events in Long Island City, NY. From 2006-2016, she co-hosted and photographed the guests of The Bunker, a world-renowned weekly techno party in Brooklyn.\u00a0 Since 2006 she has hosted artsy dance party called Kiss & Tell, which has a unique theme each time. Seze\u2019s images and designs have graced dozens of galleries, record covers, posters, flyers, magazines, galleries, and sites.<\/p>\n Seze currently completed her Advanced Certification in Art Education at Pratt Institute<\/strong> and is now a NYC public school art teacher. Short and Sweet Bio<\/strong>
Since 1993 Seze Devres has been full time photographer and artist in New York City. Along with her thriving event photography business she also creates lush classical portraits, beautiful boudoir, and family gatherings in more intimate settings. Her photography has appeared in numerous print and online publications including: The New York Times, Time Out, The Village Voice, Rolling Stone and New York Magazine. Seze\u2019s passion for electronic music has influenced many collaborative projects. She regularly documents nightlife and curates music events. Her images have graced dozens of galleries, record covers, posters, flyers, magazines, galleries, family albums, and sites. Seze\u2019s images of artists, DJs, and musicians often appear in promotional material worldwide. Along with being fully experienced in her field, she has a BA from Bard College and MFA from The School of Visual Arts, both degrees earned as a photography major. She currently completed her Advanced Certification in Art Education at Pratt Institute and is now a NYC public school art teacher.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
